Susan Kyle, aka Susan Spaeth Kyle, was born in 1946. She started her writing career as a newspaper reporter. In 1979 she published her first book as Diana Palmer. Under that name she has written over 100 novels and since 1995 she solely uses that pseudonym. Under her real name she wrote 7 contemporary romances for Popular Library and - after the imprint was discontinued - Warner from 1988 on. Proving that education is a lifelong experience, she returned to college at the age of 45, graduating with a major in history and a double minor in archaeology and Spanish.
