Rhode Island native Kristine Rolofson began her writing career after Mount St. Helens erupted, effectively stopping her family's gift shop business as ash blanketed her area. After analyzing over 200 Harlequin novels, she began the process of writing one herself. After analyzing over 200 Harlequin novels, she began the process of writing one herself. She was a Golden Heart finalist in 1986 and sold her first novel, One Of The Family to Harlequin Temptation; it was published in 1987. Her novels I'll Be Seeing You and The Texan Takes A Wife were nominated for Romantic Times Magazine Best Temptation of the Year awards. The Texan Takes A Wife won the prestigious Holt Medallion and the National Readers' Choice Award.

She is known for her sense of humor, strong women characters and Western heroes, and gathers readers wherever she goes. She's a happily married mother of six who, after moving around the country, found her home in the exact town she grew up in.

In addition to writing, she volunteers with animal rescue societies. She collects scrimshaw, antique jewelry, and Western history books and can often be found prowling through New England antique shops.
