The best day of Susan’s reading life was discovering a book of Grimm’s Fairy Tales holding up the leg of her favourite chair. The worst was being told it was time to put fairy tales aside.

Discovering Harlequin Presents filled that gap. Writing books set in fabulous places where an outstanding man shares the lead role with a fascinating and determined woman is Susan’s passion.

Susan Stephens was a professional singer before meeting her husband on the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta.

Susan is a staunch believer in romance, having met her husband on Monday, became engaged on Friday and married within three months. Three wonderful children later, they are still in love. (Susan does not advise her children return home with a similar story, as she may not take the news with the same fortitude as her own mother.)[1]

Susan adores her family, her pets and her many friends across the world, and of course, her writing. She loves entertaining, travel, reading and visiting the theater. She goes for long walks in the rugged Yorkshire countryside to relax, or plays the piano if it’s raining. She plays a lot of piano. Each year she can be found throwing herself off a mountain on a pair of skis or may occasionally be glimpsed galloping across the countryside—usually clinging desperately to the side of the horse.

Susan loves to hear from her readers across the world![2]

Susan Stephens studied music seriously before turning to fiction writing. Though she eventually earned an MA in music, her writing career was secured when she won a chance to be an author for a day with Penny Jordan, who remains a friend and mentor (as well as fellow animal lover). After that day, she wrote several books, and her first published title A Spanish Inheritance was purchased in 2002.
