Valley of the Moon by Margaret Way

Biography

Australian author Margaret Way, a definite Leo, was born and raised in the sub-tropical river city of Brisbane. A Conservatorium trained pianist, teacher, accompanist and vocal coach, her musical career came to an unexpected end when she took up writing, initially as a fun thing to do. She wrote over a hundred books for Mills & Boon and writes for the Harlequin Presents and Harlequin Romance imprint in North America. In a statement to Mills & Boon's Centenary Celebration in 2008 she wrote (in the anthology The Boss's Proposal):

It's a source of great pride and wonder to me that I've been very much a part of one of the world's most successful and iconic publishing houses, Mills and Boon, As a young mother with an infant son, when I sat down at the kitchen table an wrote my first book (in longhand!), little did I know I was embarking on a career that was to sustain, reward and offer me fulfilment for just about my entire adult life. I would say Mills & Boon has been my life...It should be said Mills & Boon not only offers pleasure to our readership but comfort in times of family grief, turmoil and stress. My own readership has told me this in so many touching ways.
