Book Description

Moving from the lakeshore city of Chicago to the dry California desert was quite a shock for Betsy. It was like watching Lake Michigan turn into a dust bowl. And the fact that she had to tussle with the gang of snobby girls that ran Desertview High didn't help Betsy adjust any faster. But the desert did have its good points. There was the wealthy, fun-loving, older Dudley deShon, and Pete, a guy at school who was gung-ho about desert living. Maybe the desert wouldn't be so bad after all...
