Mr. Impossible is the story of irresponsible, irrepressible Rupert Carsington and widow Daphne Pembroke. Daphne's brother Miles, presumed to be a scholar who has unlocked the secrets of heiroglyphics, is kidnapped, and the English authorities in Egypt are more than happy to allow Rupert to help Daphne find her brother -- though they interpret help as keeping her safe in Cairo.
