In 1999, she was voted one of the Favorite 50 African-American Authors of the 20th Century by AALBC.com, the nation's largest online African-American book club. She is also a 2013 NAACP Image Award nominee. Her fan club is known for its Beverly Jenkins Pajama Party Weekend.
