Book Description

The Evil Eye
When Ellen ran to Paris to escape her insane former husband she met Ricardo, who offered to hide her in his Corsican villa. At a local festival she is nearly stoned by villagers when an old Gypsy fortune teller sees the Evil Eye in her hand. While taking tranquilizers and sipping Vermouth to quiet her nerves, Ellen begins to hear strange noises and see phantoms in the night. Ricardo's mysterious comings and goings and his alternately benign and attacking manner add to her anxiety. She begins to fear Ricardo and believe La Casa Toscana is a house possessed.
