Leigh, great work on updating so many Same Title books.  One request: When you create the same title page and all the associated content, add it to the correct Book Letter page?  Like for Aftershocks I added the info to the A books page by just copying the entry from Aftershocks and modifying a little to fit in the format of the Books page.  --DawnBurn 16:58, 11 September 2007 (PDT)

Hi Leigh --

I just wanted to thank you for the incredible amount of work you've done! I'm still working my way through creating all the author entries for the American authors, and you've added so much already! I was especially excited to see that you added the M.J. Rodgers series. I was a bit disappointed to find so little about her on the Internet. It's great that someone else remembers those books as fondly as I do.

Best! --Romancewiki 18:41, 29 September 2006 (PDT)

Hope this is the right place to reply...

In any case, glad to help! Thanks for setting up such a great site!

--Leigh

I'm traveling right now so am only glancing at what's going on, but, wow! You've added so much content. I'm impressed. Are you doing a lot of the work offline and then uploading it (that's how I do it when I'm working on large chunks). I am so happy to see so many of my favorite Intrigues getting listed. After I finish the Harlequin Romance authors, I'll try to get the Intrigue author bios and information listed to add to what you've done. --Romancewiki 15:11, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
I mostly do it online. I added pages for just about all of the Intrigue authors so you'll have places to add their info. Hope that helps. --Leigh
When you get a sec, can you contact me via email? I searched around for your email address, but, not being a natural-born stalker, didn't find it in the obvious locations. booksquare@booksquare.com will get to me. No rush -- I just have a quick question.--Romancewiki 19:29, 3 September 2007 (PDT)

Wow!

Leigh, you really are powering along! I created a category for the "continuity" series from the publishers called category:Publisher Continuity Series, to try and capture all of those series, especially those which are written by different authors. If you get around to making pages for the different series (looks like you did some), you might want to add that category. I tried to add the category to the series that I saw. Of course, the term "series" and various categories (Romance Series, Romantic Series) are sort of confusing, since we all use the term slightly differently. You might want to look at Series (disambiguation) to see the list of uses that I found here at RW. The only one I created was the Publishers Continuity category since that did not seem to already exist. I wanted to try and use the existing categories and hope I have not confused things further. --Kay T 13:24, 14 March 2007 (PDT)

Intrigues

I'm sure you've noticed that I'm going in behind you and filling in the blanks on the Intrigue authors. Man, so many titles that I'd read and forgotten about (Sharon Green's Werewolf Moon being one -- I almost feel like I have to dig it out of the boxes because it's a favorite but I don't quite recall the details).

I figure I'll have this piece finished up fairly soon and I don't want to duplicate your efforts. Since I'm still mentally focused on getting through the series romances -- probably because I believe it will give us great coverage on a wide range of authors -- I'm curious to know if there's a place you'd really like me to focus. I'm wide open to my next major Excel project...--Romancewiki 21:40, 8 May 2007 (PDT)

P.S. -- Thanks so much for getting some 2007 titles into the "by the numbers" areas. Finally, I'm doing a newsletter update soon -- anything you want mentioned, noted, called out?
All of the Silhouette Romances, Desires and older Special Edition titles need to be added to their respective "By The Numbers" sections. I wasn't planning on touching them since I'm not as familiar with those lines as some of the other ones I've done, so you can take those if you want.
Since you're doing the Intrigue authors, I've been meaning to ask how you wanted to deal with Alice Orr, whose first few books were published as Alice Harron Orr, with the ones after that published as just plain Alice Orr. I didn't start a page for her because I didn't know which name to start the page for. Both? One redirecting to the other? Anyway, I'll leave that one to you, so just a heads-up. You might have already thought about it.
That's all I can think of now. I'll keep trying to add the pages and plot summaries for the most recent series romances, or if there's anything else you think I should be doing, let me know. --Leigh
Silhouette it is! I was thinking that the Silhouette Romances should be added -- focusing on category really does give us a huge head start on adding oodles of authors (do authors come in oodles?). Plus I like doing the necessary research for authors who aren't easily located online. I've found some interesting little bits of information that way.
As for Alice Orr, what I've been doing (with authors like Janis Reams Hudson who also wrote as Jan Hudson) creating a separate "author" page for each name and pointing people to the other incarnations. My logic -- and feel free to disagree -- is that each name is a different pseudonym/name and should be treated that way. I see them as separate entities, even though they are the same person (just as I treated each pseudonym as a "name". I hadn't really considered doing a redirect, but that might be a good compromise solution. Maybe that's the question I can ask in the newsletter? KayT is out of town right now, so I'm holding off until she gets back...she might have some newsy thoughts too.--Romancewiki 19:28, 11 May 2007 (PDT)

Temptation Authors

I hope I did not get in your way or mess anything up -- last night I got on a kick of putting the category "Harlequin Temptation Authors" on all of the authors who already had a page, starting from the Temptation by the numbers pages. Also, I made some links from list pages that you (or others) had created and the category pages. --Kay T 11:51, 17 May 2007 (PDT)

Nope, it didn't mess with anything I was working on. It looks like you took care of some things that needed to be done. Looks good to me! --Leigh

same name, different author

Last night I noticed that Alison Tyler is a name used by a currently writing erotica author AND a pseudonym used by Elise Title. How are we going to handle that? I can post this on RomanceWiki's page too. Or have we run into this before?--Kay T 16:09, 31 May 2007 (PDT)

Wow, I have no idea. Maybe Alison Tyler - 1 and Alison Tyler - 2? I'll let Romancewiki make that call. I haven't come across anything like that before. --Leigh
okay, I posted it to her page too. I also added a link to the "lines" you are working on to the Berkley page (2d chance and to have and to hold). --Kay T 16:21, 31 May 2007 (PDT)

Lone Star Country Club and other series questions

Leigh, do you have any idea if Lone Star Country Club is a continuity series or a flash?

Also, FYI I created a new category category:Authors' Series for those series that are just one author. --Kay T 11:34, 5 June 2007 (PDT)

It was a continuity series. I added some of the titles you were missing, but I think there was at least one more sequel. Not sure though. --Leigh

Same title, different book

Leigh, not to complicate your life (and work here) even further, but did you know that when you are doing all of the changing required to make a book page into the "same title" page, you can also check the "What links here" (over in the toolbox at the left side). Sometimes these book pages are linked from lots of places you might not expect, and now the link goes to the "same title" page and not to the book page (not that that is the end of the world). For example, To Die For is also linked from awards pages, etc. Maybe you did know that and are cleaning them up later, but just in case... --Kay T 11:46, 7 June 2007 (PDT)

No, I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip. That makes things a lot easier. --Leigh
Great. It is actually sort of fun to do that (I have checked on a few pages and made the changes). You find all sorts of things hidden in the depths of RomanceWiki! Have a good weekend. Here in Northern California it is sunny and cool-warm. We are having a family get-together so I will not be working here (unless I sneak away to do so. I find that this place is very soothing, something we can control instead of the rest of my life!). --Kay T 10:00, 8 June 2007 (PDT)
I am laughing about this notion of "control" -- my life for the past two weeks has been a whirlwind of intrigue and out-of-controlness (none of it due to actions of my own). I woke up this morning looking forward to sitting down and adding content to the wiki. I need a day of working in an orderly (ha!) organized fashion.--Romancewiki 10:40, 9 June 2007 (PDT)

I'd forgotten about the letter pages. I'll do that from now on.--Leigh

FYI

I just wanted you to know that this is apparently "National Spam Month" and we were hit this weekend. I did some protections on pages hit multiple times, including the HQ Romance By The Numbers. If you need to access it, I can unprotect quickly. I have this incredible hatred of spam...--Romancewiki 20:37, 11 June 2007 (PDT)

typos

thanks for fixing typos! I guess I was just brain-dead when I got to those.--Kay T 12:55, 18 July 2007 (PDT)

No big deal. I'm sure you've caught some of mine! --Leigh

And thanks for fixing mine. I didn't know that all instances of 'the' in a title should, in fact, be "The". I apologize for creating extra work and thanks! --DawnBurn 16:29, 4 September 2007 (PDT)

question

Was it you who started the clean up on the "same title" books? Didn't you also create a page where it said something like: "this title has been used for ______ books" ? Or was that someone else? I can't think where I saw that info.--Kay T 18:25, 1 September 2007 (PDT)

Sorry, it wasn't me. I've been trying to go back and catch those books, but I think Romancewiki was the first one to do it and I've never seen a page where it said that. Maybe she wrote it somewhere? --Leigh
I'll ask her. Did you see that there is a page with instructions of what to do Help:Same Title Multiple Authors? You should check it out and see if you have any suggestions. It can be rather confusing.
I think the style is still to capitalize everything, but we don't have a "style manual" here. Probably need to start a page. Maybe I will mention it to Romancewiki. --Kay T 18:59, 2 September 2007 (PDT)
