First Juliette March, a wealthy sheltered spinster, marries the the charming, Jean Jacques Villette. After their wedding, he leaves with a lot of her money, saying he will return when he buys them a new home. Juliette gets tired of waiting and tracks him to an inn.
There she finds Clara Klaus who had also married the Frenchman named Jean Jacques Villette. After they married, she sold her inn and he left saying he was going to buy them a new one. Clara and Juliette joing forces to find Jean and travel from California to Seattle.
