Book Description

Bailey Wells returns to her home town, Stokesville, North Carolina, as the assistant to Paul Ellis, a true-crime writer who is writing a book about a murder in Stokesville. When Bailey finds Paul's wife dead in the swimming pool, she becomes a murder suspect. Steve Burke is the local policeman who is attracted to Bailey, and determined to get to the bottom of both the older murder and the new.
