Carrie Lofty was born in California, raised in the Midwest, found the love of her life in England. She and her husband, Keven, have been married for eleven years, and they have two daughters. After completing her BA in English and history from Bowling Green State University, Carrie earned her MA in history from Ohio State University with a thesis on Old West outlaws and the impact of legend on society.

Her time travel short story Sundial, set in 1958 Italy, won The Wild Rose Press's "Through the Garden Gate" contest in 2007, and was praised as "inventive" (Dear Author) and "shattering" (Nights & Weekends). The story went on to become a #1 bestseller for The Wild Rose Press.
