When a Neanderthal settlement is discovered, an unwanted housing project is halted. Archaeologis Callie Dunbrook anticipates the dig of her career. On site is her ex-husband Jacob Graystone, an anthropologist. Even as Callie tries to make sense of what she's finding, a strange woman appears, claiming that Callie is her long-lost daughter. Townspeople begin disappearing, and like many Nora Roberts titles, there are multiple romances and plotlines.
Readers believe this to be a classic Roberts title.
