Carole Mortimer was born in England as the youngest of three children. She published her first book for Mills & Boon in 1979 and has become one of the publisher's most prolific authors. Carole has four sons and a bearded collie dog called Merlyn. She says:

I'm in a happy relationship with Peter; we're best friends as well as lovers, which is probably the best recipe for a successful relationship. We live on the Isle of Man.

Mortimer was an early favorite of author Jamie Denton[1].
