Fleur Savagar, has been raised in a convent, seeing her mother, Belinda, only a month out of the year. She has never seen her father Alexei, but she doesn't know why. Her mother never told her that she is in fact the illegitimate daughter of Errol Flynn, and that is why Alexei has refused to have anything to do with her. When her photograph appears in the newspapers, Alexei becomes obsessed with this young innocent. She is a beauty who eventually becomes a modeling superstar of the 1970s, Glitter Baby. During her debut in a movie she meets Jake Koranda, a James Dean-type bad boy. Uncomfortable with her beauty and not wanting to be an actress, Fleur runs away -- first to her father, Alexei, then to roam Europe -- and only returns to the New York fashion scene when she has finally grown up -- Glitter Baby returns.
