If one were simply judging by appearances, Major Cole Raven would appear the stereotypical romance hero. Tall and dangerous-looking, he's a battle-hardened warrior. He's also been nursing a secret passion for Honor, an ex-actress and the wife of one of his subordinates, who has followed her husband to the Peninsula. The way in which they overcome the many obstacles in the path of their love, without compromising their honour, and speak of their emotions honestly and openly with each other made this a compelling read.
