Lilian Darcy studied linguistics and acted before turning to writing full time. In addition to writing novels, Darcy has also written for television and the theater[1]. The Australia native has also lived in Europe and the United States. She published her first novel in 1981, Bright Crystals, with Mills & Boon at age 23. She has written over 70 novels for various lines.

Her novels Finding Her Prince and The Doctor's Mistress were nominees for the RITA award in 2003. She also finaled in 2006 for her novel The Father Factor. Lilian Darcy was a 2009 RITA® finalist in the 2009 RITA® Winners category with her novel The Children's Doctor And The Single Mum.

As an author for Silhouette Romance, Lilian Darcy published 11 novels.
