The Regency Historical Romance award, introduced in 2008, covers romance novels set primarily during set during the Regency period of the British Empire. The award essentially replaced the RITA®: Best Regency Romance award, which, due to the elimination of short Regency lines, had trouble garnering enough entries to make the category viable.
