Book Description

It was sheer chance - or was it? - that sent Melanie winging to New York with the hotel tycoon, Rick Vandraaton. His usual secretary had not been able to make the trip, and Melanie had caught his notice as he came out of the lift. "You'll do," he'd said. "I remember you did some letters for me once, and you weren't too bad..."

Melanie soon found her feelings for Rick become something more than secretarial, but a complication in the way was "the golden rose" - the disdainful Diane Fairchild who had already staked her claim and asked Melanie, "Aren't you the little junior typist Rick coughed up from nowhere?" Privately Melanie thought it was the Vandraaten wmoney which had something to do with Diane's attraction for Rick - but what could she do about it?
