Book Description
They seemed innocent enough. First a blue chrysanthemum. Then a lion bookend, followed by a paper crown. Someone was breaking into Laura Penn's home to leave these cryptic messages. They seemed harmless, but then an identical bookend was discovered at the scene of a murder--and Laura realized she'd made one fatal mistake.
She'd lied to Detective Max Elliot, withheld information that might have shielded a murderer. Laura hated to confess her life, lest it destroy her new and fragile relationship with Max. But there was no alternative--without all the pieces, Max couldn't hope to put the puzzle together to get a clear picture of Laura's stalker. And not even his love for her could keep the messengers of death at bay.
