Book Description

Kell Sabin is an undercover secret agent, on vacation in the Gulf of Mexico, alone on his boat when he is shot. Kell is rescued by Rachel Jones, a 30 year old widow who lives alone with her pets in a small house near the beach where he washes up.

Rachel had been an investigative reporter but her husband was mistakenly killed by a car bomb meant for her. Now she leads an innocuous life selling souvenirs. When she finds Kell unconscious, her reporter's instincts kick in. She calls her friend Honey, a veterinarian, to treat him, and then she sets about taking care of him until the bad guys show up. The main conflict between these two is that Kell's work is very dangerous to both of them, so he tries to push her away. Rachel, having faced danger and death as a reporter, and she is not afraid of his work and able to take care of herself. Kell is not convinced, but he comes to realize he needs Rachel.
