Book Description

Zoe is a successful interior designer who happens to be able to sense emotions from the walls of rooms. She gets a bad feeling from the bedroom of her latest client, so she hires Ethan Truax, a PI, to investigate what happened to her client's wife. He takes the job, and agrees to accept some of Zoe's interior design services in exchange for his investigation. After he finds the wife's body, he realizes that he wants to get to know Zoe better. What he discovers is that she has escaped from a mental institution and is hiding out in Whispering Springs to keep her in-laws from finding her and possibly even killing her. Ethan has also come to start a new life after the death of his brother a couple of years earlier and losing his Los Angeles PI company to bankruptcy. When he realizes that Zoe is telling the truth he proposes marriage as a way of keeping her safe.
