Lucy Hatch's husband dies suddenly and she goes back to her small hometown in East Texas to try to take up her life. She rents a little house, gets a job in the florist shop and reaquaints herself with her family. Then she meets Ash Farrell, the local country-western singing star. Lucy does not want to become just the latest in his long line of conquests, but she finds him hard to resist.
