About the Book

When her twin sister Rose (Jeanette Rose) refuses to marry Adrian Winter, the Duke of Raeburn, Violet (Jeanette Violet), the quiet, shy sister, finds herself walking down the aisle to marry the man she's secretly loved. Adrian, who realizes that Jeannette is self-involved, is willing to sacrifice in order to marry the perfect woman to carry on the Winter name. Much to his surprise, he finds himself falling in love with his new bride.

While the plot of switching twins at the altar is a romance classic, the fact that Violet is desperately in love with Adrian gives this novel a sense of poignancy as she realizes that Adrian cannot be bothered to realize that the twin he married is not the twin he courted. The fact that he doesn't realize he married the wrong woman rankles her.

This historical Regency reads like a traditional story with more sensual elements.

The Husband Trap won the 2007 RITA® in the Best First Book category.
