The Romance Writers of America hold their Annual Conference in mid-summer, generally late July, every year. The conference rotates from between the coasts and middle United States with regular stops in New York City. Generally attended by 2,000 plus members of the organization, editors, agents, publicists, and press, the conference features workshops and publisher spotlights. Other key events are the annual Readers For Life Literacy Autographing, a massive signing that raises money for literacy causes and the annual RITA and Golden Heart awards ceremony, which also includes the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
