Taking Dolly Parton’s advice to "find out who you are and do that on purpose," New York Times bestseller Vicki Lewis Thompson looked deep within herself and discovered Groucho Marx in drag.

Vicki’s an eight-time finalist for the RITA and has won many chapter contests. Her first mainstream romance, Nerd in Shining Armor, became Kelly Ripa’s pick for her book club in 2003. That exposure shot Vicki onto all the bestseller lists and launched the popular nerd series.

Instead of resting on her nerd laurels, Vicki’s writing paranormal romances for NAL. Set in the fictional town of Big Knob, the series features a large granite spire, a matchmaking witch and wizard, and a dragon who’s ADD. Vicki’s credentials for writing paranormal include a New England ancestor accused of witchcraft, a love of potions – especially those concocted in a martini shaker – and a fondness for black cats.

Over Hexed, the first book in Vicki's new series, is in stores October 2, 2007.
