Anything can happen in summer when steamy days lead to even more torrid nights. Whether a new love, an unexpected love or stolen passion that can only lead to trouble, summertime romance is impossible to resist as you’ll see in this trio of tales by Bonnie Dee, Jayelle Drewry and Rusty Wicks.
Summer's Promise It’s the beginning of summer, time for fun in the sun… and in the dark. When the kids are away, single mom Delilah Jaynes is ready to play. She’s got the whole summer to herself. The perfect time to find a summer lover. That’s a promise she’s going to keep.
John Knowles has watched and wanted Delilah. She’s suppressed her needs, denied herself, denied John. But denial is over. He’s tired of waiting. It’s time to take action. By the end of summer, he’s going to be her lover. That’s a promise he’s going to keep.
She’s looking for a lover. He’s ready, willing, and able to fill that position, or any other position Delilah needs.

"Summer’s Promise turned out to be a delightful and entertaining story that had two sexy mature lead characters showing us that life and love can make a difference if you take that chance. I loved the fact that Delilah was depicted as a sexy single mother who decides to have some fun after devoting so much of her time to her children. I also loved the fact that a man like John lusting after her without Delilah fully realizing her good fortune. John brings a breath of fresh air into this story, with a combination of his confidence and vulnerability and a hint of ego, though his persistence pays off to make their scenes together so hot that even their first tentative kiss is sensual and brings out the tingles as you’re reading it. John isn’t your typical hero, in both looks and occupation, and the sexual intensity that Delilah builds in this worldly and experienced guy is very endearing.Overall, this story proved to be a great addition in this anthology." 4 Stars, Aggie Tsirikas @ JERR

“I want to hold you next to me. Dance with me.” The heat in his eyes lit a similar flame in her. She nodded her consent.
Taking her hand, he pulled her from their table and led her to the dance floor. The band started covering Los Lobos’ Beautiful Maria of My Soul. There were a few others out on the tiny floor. Delilah couldn’t have cared less. All that mattered was that he was holding her in his arms as they swayed to the sultry beat. She laid her head against his chest and relaxed into his embrace. As they moved around the floor, the Spanish words poured over them like liquid, beautiful but unintelligible to her. John started humming and dipped his head to her ear and softly began to sing along in English.
“In the sunlight of your smile,” a shudder worked its way through her body as his breath whispered into her hair and tiny tendrils of heat worked their way through he,. “in the summer of our life, in the magic of love, storms above scattered away.”
The hoarseness of his voice, the tenderness of his tone, the feel of his lips brushing along her ear, were incredibly sexy. Her womb clenched, and wetness pooled between her thighs. He was seducing her on the dance floor. It was wonderful, thrilling, and she didn’t want the music to end.
The band rolled one song into the next, this one a languid guitar solo. Delilah lifted her head to look up at him. Her gaze landed on his lips and stopped. The memory of their touch came flooding back to her, and she wanted to feel them pressed against hers again. Wanted to test their softness, and taste the man behind them. She closed her eyes, giving him silent permission to kiss her.
“I can see your pulse,” his voice was low, husky, “right there.” He ran a gentle fingertip along the side of her neck to its base, tracing her blood flow. Eyes popping open, she sucked in a sharp breath, his touch like an electric shock.
“Are you nervous or excited?”
Both. She was breathing in shallow pants, barely conscious of their movements around the floor.
When she didn’t answer, he continued. “Maybe a little of both, huh?” He traced her collarbone, stopping at the dip in her throat. His touch was almost nonexistent, yet she felt it to her bones. Goose bumps popped up along her arms, and her nipples tingled and hardened.
“I’ve made my living reading other people’s body language. You could say I’m an expert at it.” She felt mesmerized by the expression in his eyes, the tone of his voice. “Do you know what you’re body’s saying to me?” The rough tip of his forefinger traced the skin of her upper chest revealed through the vee of her tunic.
“It’s telling me you like my touch.”
She did. And she wanted more than just the stroke of his callused fingertip. She wanted to taste him again. She wanted to feel his body pressed up against hers as their tongues mated. Saliva flooded her mouth at the thought, and she swallowed heavily. Using the backs of his fingers, he skimmed the curve of her breast. “Your nipple is hard, telling me you’re excited.” He brushed the hardened tip, and it was as if an electrical wire connected her nipple and her womb.
His hands drifted down to cup her hips and pull her closer. “I’m excited, too. I want you. I want to see you, feel you, taste the sweetness of you.”
She could feel his hardened length pressing into her stomach, and her sex spasmed and began to grow even wetter. Her knees weakened at his erotic words, and she dug her fingers into his shoulders, holding on for dear life.
“Can I have you, sweet Delilah? Will you give yourself to me?”
Yes. He could have her right now. Any thought she’d had about not sleeping with him on the first date had completely disappeared. She wanted him, and she was going to have as much of him as she could. Tonight. Unable to speak, she simply nodded her head.
