Alathea Wright is a pseudonym that the author started to use when she discovered her real name was a little too strange and rather "unpronounceable" to the English speaking. The name Alathea is a variant of Alethea which in Greek means verity and truth. It was also a variant of the name of the goddess of truth in Greek mythology. Wright is a synonym for craftsman, artisan.

She's been addicted to books since childhood, when her mother read her fairy-tales even before she was born. Having developed such a big love for literature she devoured the "kiddy" half of her town's library when she was still in the fourth grade. So she moved onto the "grown-up" section. There her love for adventure and mystery literature began, reading Agatha Christie and Edgar Wallace.

It was only in high-school when she discovered the so-called chick lit (historical romances) when she bought her first Amanda Quick book. Soon, that too wasn't enough and discovering her books in English, she became hooked even more, soon moving onto the contemporary and (her favorite) paranormal romances.

A firm believer in love that lasts forever - even if it's only in the movies or on the pages of books - a soul-mate for each and every one of us, and happily ever after, she strives to put as much emotion and passion into her characters as possible, trying to make them live on their own.
