About the Chapter
The mission statement of the Los Angeles Romance Authors ("LARA") is:
The purpose of LARA is to promote excellence in romance fiction, to help writes enhange their knowledge and establish career goals, and to provide continuing support and encouragement for our members through all levels of their careers.
Contests/Awards
LARA has hosted the Foot In The Door contest. The contest is currently inactive while members retool the contest. Previously, the contest held a contest called When Lips Collide and another called Best Bet for Bestseller.
Conferences
LARA does not hold an annual conference but they do hold an annual "All Day Workshop" featuring various authors such as Tami Cowden and Julia Quinn. The workshop is generally held in late Spring.
