Jessie McQuade doesn't believe in magic or supernatural activity -- until she witnesses a teacher turning rabid and trying to attack one of her students. Together with Will Cadote, she works to solve the mystery of apparent werewolves in her midst. The problem is that despite her attraction to Will, she suspects that he might be one of the creatures she's hunting.

Blue Moon plays with traditional werewolf lore by introducing the item of a totem or charm into the story.
