Paulette was awakened by her own screams. "It's only a nightmare;" she told herself, shaking with unfathomable terror. "A recurring nightmare." She slipped into her robe and stepped out onto the balcony. The soft Majorcan night enveloped her, and she saw again Ramon as he was in her dream, his eyes gazing into hers, his proud features haunting her. And then the image broke and faded, as she remembered the deadly end of the dream. Fate seemed to be drawing her forward. But to where?
