In September 1996 Mills & Boon discontinued the long-running Romance series and split it into two different imprints: Mills & Boon Presents™ - for the more passionate stories - and Mills & Boon Enchanted™ for the more emotional romances.
The Mills & Boon Presents™ imprint adopted the name of an imprint of Mills & Boon's mother company Harlequin.
In July 2000 the imprint was replaced by the Modern Romance™ series.
