While RWA Presidents previously served two-year terms, current Presidents spend one year "training" as President-Elect before serving as the organization's President. The following members have served as President of the Romance Writers of America. Office terms currently run from November 1 - October 31. While RWA Presidents previously served two-year terms, current Presidents spend one year "training" as President-Elect before serving as the organization's President. This allows for smooth transitions and gives the new President the necessary experience to begin work immediately.
Only one man, Harold Lowry has ever served as the President of the Romance Writers of America.
