DEADLY STAIRCASE The steps were of stone, painstakingly carved, and seemed to climb steeply and endlessly into the gloom. There were exactly one hundred of them. The climb was difficult, but Catherine didn't mind. It was good exercise for a ballet dancer, and part of her ascent to fame and success. For the stairs took her to the mansion of Olga Ianovna, the great prima ballerina, who was to help Catherine become a star of the ballet in her turn. But one young girl had already died on that staircase... And the house itself hid many secrets, dark events of the past that the present inhabitants wanted to erase from the scroll of time. It contained, too, the blossoming of love for Catherine. But would it also be the scene of her death?
