Welcome

Welcome to Romance Wiki. Thanks for all of the hard work, looks like you are doing a good job. Feel free to ask questions if you need help (although I try not to spend all my time here). --Kay T 17:49, 29 August 2007 (PDT)

Thanks! This is a great resource, and I'm excited to help it take shape. I do have one question, though (well, technically two): I have been repeatedly unsuccessful in putting a merger flag up for the entries Cheryl St. John vs. Cheryl St.John using the how-to at Wikipedia (note the space in the first that's not in the second). Question #1 is what is the code that works for that, if I'd like to mark both pages as needing merging. Question #2 is, in the case of Author names like "St.____" or "de _____", is there an agreed-upon spacing? Thanks, --Robini 14:31, 30 August 2007 (PDT)

Robin -- Generally, I prefer to have a space, but that is often dependent on how the author actually spells her/his name -- or how the title is created. If I'm understanding your question correctly, what you're trying to do is redirect one page to another. That will allow anyone who searches for a name spelled one way to find it under the correct spelling. It sounds like Cheryl St.John (whom I'm presuming is *the* Cheryl St.John has made all the necessary changes, so I'll do a redirect, if you haven't already done so!
by the way, welcome!--Romancewiki 13:04, 31 August 2007 (PDT)

I have no idea how to leave messages. I'm Cheryl St.John (no space) I plan to simply delete the page with the space because I think I've got them both the same now. No need for 2 if someone types in my name and it goes to the correct one. I've tried it and it works. ??
