That’s what they said about wealthy financier Stallard Beauchamp. Yet right from their very first meeting he made it quite clear that he considered Farran worthy only of contempt.

It wasn’t fair. Even though she was seeking a favor—it wasn’t for herself. But he believed she was a little gold digger—only out for all she could get.

Anyway, why should she try to convince him that he was wrong about her? It wasn’t as if she cared for him at all…
