LaVyrle Spencer
Biography
LaVyrle Spencer had a long and well-respected career before retiring from writing. Accolades began when she won the 1983 Golden Medallion in the Mainstream Historical category. In addition to her beloved historical romances, she also wrote the debut title for the Harlequin Harlequin Temptation line, Spring Fancy. She was a founding member of the Midwest Fiction Writers (MFW), chapter 24 of the Romance Writers of America.
Spencer has been honored many times for her work, including the 1983 Golden Medallion in the Mainstream Historical category for The Endearment, the 1984 Golden Medallion in the Historical category for Hummingbird, the 1985 Golden Medallion in the Historical category for Twice Loved, the 1988 Golden Medallion in the Historical category for The Gamble, the 1990 RITA® in the Best Romance category for Morning Glory.
LaVyrle Spencer wrote one novel for the Harlequin Temptation line.
