The man in disguise had to be unmasked. When Laurel Villeret decided to carry on a dead friend's quest for an unpunished war criminal, no one opposed her more violently than her husband, Paul. "He probably died years ago, darling," Paul said. "And if he's alive, he's dangerous. You'll be risking your life!" But Laurel was determined. Using clues found in the diary of the dead woman, she followed a treacherous trail through Portugal and southern France. Her search ended there when the suspects numbered three men--an eccentric doctor, a wealthy businessman ... and her own husband.
