The night Jennifer's mother died, her voice spoke through Jennifer. "Tomorrow I will be no more ... I pass my gift on to you." The gift is a strangely frightening one -- trance mediumship. Has Jennifer indeed acquired occult powers? A group of psychic investigators believe so. Mrs. Ardith Kearnery does, too. Mrs. Kearney offers Jennifer a refuge from prying reporters at her remote mansion, if Jennifer will contact her late husband's spirit. At the Kearney household, Jennifer's life is in danger. Someone is clearly afraid of what the nightly séances may reveal. Will the spectral voices help Jennifer or lead her to her death?
