Hayden Lane, a romance author, loses her fiance and sense of reality as she becomes obsessed with her hero, James Tavistock. Regression therapy leads Hayden to learn that she was once Catherine Tavistock, Lady de Grey, and married to Adam Tavistock (the Edwardian version of her hero). Catherine must be hypnotized and sent back to the Elizabethan era in order to break the chain of events that doom the women to repeat their pasts.
