LaVyrle Spencer had a long and well-respected career before retiring from writing. Accolades began when she won the 1983 Golden Medallion in the Mainstream Historical category. In addition to her beloved historical romances, she also wrote the debut title for the Harlequin Temptation line, Spring Fancy. She was a founding member of the Midwest Fiction Writers (MFW), chapter 24 of the Romance Writers of America.
