Letty Murphy Potter has everything she ever dreamed of and more. No more Saloons. No more drunk men vying for her favors. No more nights wondering if she'll have enough food to survive. After finding gold in Denver City, she and Eulis are rolling in money, and Eulis Potter, who had his own demons to demolish, is proud to call Letty his wife. They have the respect of the citizens of Denver City and the beginnings of a fine home on a hill overlooking the growing city below. But life isn't through with Letty. It's still waiting to deliver a blow to her soul, just to remind her she's not really in charge. It's what Letty does afterward that creates the legend she becomes.
