Mills & Boon began publishing medical romances in the UK under the Doctor Nurse Romance imprint in 1977. In ? the imprint name changed to Medical Romance and in ? to Love on Call. The current Medical Romance imprint name was adopted in ?. The name of the series may have changed twice and the cover look far more often than that, but the continuity of numbering remained.
