The Cazalet Bride
THE CAZALET BRIDE
Violet Winsper - 1970
Young Ricki O'Neill was at the end of her holiday in Spain when she met the imposing Don Arturo de Cazalet, and when Don Arturo offered her a job as nurse to his crippled nephew, seven-year-old Jaime, on his vast estate in Andalusia, Ricki jumped at the chance to stay on for a while in that beautiful country. She got on well with her small charge, but as time went on she was puzzled and disturbed to discover that small Jaime didn't like or trust his uncle.
Then she learned why - the child was convinced that Don Arturo had been responsible for the car accident - or was it an accident? - in which his parents had been killed. Should Ricki try to ignore it as the figment of a child's imagination or ought she to try to find what was at the bottom of it all?
