Berkley Sensation was launched in 2003 specifically for romance titles from Berkley publishers. The concept was that four romances would be issued monthly:

A BERKLEY SENSATION HISTORICAL featuring the best in historical romance

A BERKLEY SENSATION CONTEMPORARY from chick-lit love stores to hot romantic thrillers

and

A BERKLEY SENSATION SHOWCASE top-choice picks for the stars of tomorrow.
