Book Description
When Theresa Stanton went to Windimount to work as nanny to Scott Milward's small motherless daughter Melinda it soon became apparent that there were a number of good practical reasons why, as Scott soon suggested, Theresa should marry him - notably the fact that little Melinda needed a mother. True, she did not love him and it was patently obvious that he did not love her; she was still smarting from the hurt and humiliation of her broken engagement while Scott, after the way Melinda's mother, the glamorous Elaine, had treated him, was in no mood ever falling in love again. Weren't they being a little foolish to imagine that such a marriage could ever succeed, even without Elaine turning up again to make all the mischief she could?
