Ida Pollock
Ida Pollock, née Crowe (born 12 April 1908 in Lewisham, Kent, England), is a British writer of several short-stories and over a hundred romance novels under her married name, Ida Pollock, and under her numerous pseudonyms: Susan Barrie, Pamela Kent, Averil Ives, Anita Charles, Barbara Rowan, Jane Beaufort, Rose Burghley, Mary Whistler and Marguerite Bell. She published over 70 novels for Mills & Boon.
She worked in London during the Blitz, and took up writing to support her family. Pollock married Hugh Pollock, who was previously married to British author Enid Blyton. Her daughter Rosemary Pollock is also a romance author.
Ida Pollock passed away on December 3, 2013 at the age of 105. She published 125 novels over the course of her career, including two published posthumously.
