Pastor's daughter Inga Linberg travels with her family from Sweden to Iowa in search of a new life. Inga plans to take care of her parents, but when farmer Dirk Bridger comes looking for assistance with his nieces and and mother, Inga finds herself involved with the Bridger family as well. Dirk plans to sell the farm and travel, but as he come to know Inga, he begins to the see the value of home.
