J.A. Huss
I am a scientist, New York Times Bestseller, USA Today Bestseller, and a cowgirl who rides English. Several of my audiobooks have been nominated for the Audie Award, and the one time I entered a book for RITA consideration, I was a finalist.
Five of my books were optioned for TV/film, and I co-wrote a pilot with actor/screenwriter Johnathan McClain for MGM.
In my seventeen years as a self-published author, I have written hundreds of non-fiction science workbooks for children and nearly a hundred adult novels—mostly twisted, spicy dark romance, with a bit of romantic fantasy and sci-fi romance as side projects.
I enjoy experimenting with tropes and genres, almost always delivering unexpected twists while still meeting reader expectations. I never write the same story twice. For me, the creative process is filled with sleepless nights and endless angst, which leads to perfect endings. Plot and pacing are things I take seriously, worldbuilding and characterization are my trademark strengths, and I love taking big risks that sometimes pay off. (I don’t always win, but I always learn something when I fail.)
My socials are overflowing with supportive, long-time fans who think of me as a friend and I have signed at Book Bonanza and many other indie author events over the last twelve years.
