Valhalla, the heavenly oasis that the Valkyries call home is scrambling to prepare for the Apocalypse. Evil has stopped playing by the rules and started recruiting from a supernatural gene pool. The Elder Valkyries are left no alternative but to send their strongest warrior in search of brave male souls that possess supernatural powers.

Linnea isn't happy with the Elders' decision, but she's always done what was expected of her, and this is no expectation. Leaping through the waterfalls and into legendary battles to collect warrior souls has never scared her before, but now she's in a race against time to gather the men before the vampires get to them.

Can she find the brave warriors Valhalla needs in time? Is love inevitable? Will it last? Follow Linnea on the journey that led her to become Valerie.

Rating: This story contains mature situations, graphic violence, strong language, explicit sex, the loss of child, and a women's love for multiple men. It is not intended for the faint of heart.

VALHALLA: The Valkyrie Beginnings is a dark paranormal story with a little romance and a lot of suspense. It chronicles Linnea's journey from Valkyrie to vampire, and the men she loves along the way. Gregory, Lucha, and Kerr all have great strengths and gifts beyond anything imaginable, but they also have one weakness -- their love for Linnea. The story flows smoothly, following Linnea's many sexual encounters, her battles, and her struggles to remember who and what she once was. Linnea is the best at her job of capturing souls, and those in Valhalla know it. Once she's turned and her memories are gone, Linnea teaches the newly turned vampires how to live and survive, and she feeds off the blood of evil doers. She might not have her memories, but instilled deep inside her is the need to protect the innocent.

Ms. Roth writes a thriller that readers of dark romance will find enjoyable. But if you're looking for a romance and a happily-ever-after, then VALHALLA: The Valkyrie Beginnings may not be to your liking.

4 Stars--Ms. Roth has written an interesting beginning to a series. Linnea’s character is a woman bucking against the old guard of the elders. She doesn’t like the fact that she is dragging men away from their time and their battles back to Valhalla. Her character is strong and sensitive. At times I wanted to cry with her as she encountered problems in her travels. The many men she develops an interest in during her time in the human world are fascinating. Kerr and Beau are the most interesting, since their characters are in the book longer. Kerr is a man of great passion and you feel the joy he has when he finds himself in Valerie’s arms. Beau is tempted and wants the forbidden fruit that Linnea offers. The sex scenes in this story are powerful. I found that there was so much happening in this first installment that it was overwhelming. It will be interesting to see how Ms. Roth handles the next installment in this series. --Julie Esparza Just Erotic Romance Reviews

5 Angels--Valhalla is a myth that is old as time. It has been told and retold for centuries. Mandy M. Roth has given us another rendition of this mystical tale. It’s very passionate with a sad side that will make your heart cry. Linnea goes through hell; the question is will she make it back? Karr, Gregorios, or Lucha, which is destined to be by Linnea’s side? I love Ms. Roth’s use for a waterfall in the story. Never again will I look at a waterfall the same. From now on every time I see one I’ll wonder, could it be possible. When an author can leave a reader with that kind of feeling she can say she’s done her job. Ms. Roth’s interpretation of a Valkyrie’s life is a hot, sizzling love story that will have you coming back for more. Be sure to get Valhalla The Valkyrie Beginnings by Mandy M. Roth. And be careful you don’t go over the waterfalls. You never know where you may land. Enjoy! --Reviewed by: Diane Fallen Angel Reviews
